Our Story
Anne Scroggs - Founder

Creative Teaching CAP was founded by Anne Scroggs, the mother of a 21 year old severely autistic and cognitive impaired son. She is a long time student of autistic spectrum disorders and an accomplished advocate for special needs students. Anne spent years researching autistic learning and the various methods used in schools (both successful and unsuccessful).  She attended seminars, classes, and gained information from professionals specializing in autism, psychologists, behavior specialists, neurologists, speech pathologists, teachers, and others for more than ten (10) years.

The products we sell today are based on tools developed by Anne during a year when she home schooled her son after being so frustrated by his behavior issues and lack of progress. When she started, he had a vocabulary of just 30 words. Anne used all she had learned in her years of research to create materials to effectively teach her son language and the skills he needed to be productive and contribute to the household.  There was a lot of trial and error - but through it all, it was those materials (that are now our Products) that proved to really work and made all the difference. Mitchell can now speak in complete sentences, read, write, and effectively communicate his needs.  In his early 20's, he has a vocabulary of more than 1200 words.  We are seeing similar results in many homes and classrooms across the country.

Creative Teaching CAP is made up of teachers, parents, and others who are passionate about improving special education. We know that when our proven tools are used at home and in the classroom, a huge difference can be made in the lives of students, teachers, and families. We strive to make sure that special-need students have every opportunity to succeed and thrive.
